SMS & messaging policy

This page explains the Find My Captain SMS program — what we send, how you opt in, and how to opt out. Find My Captain is a service of Find My Captain, 411 Walnut Street #24923, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043. Questions? Email info@findmy-captain.com.

What messages we send

We send transactional text messages only — updates about your bookings and account, such as when a captain accepts, declines, or changes a trip. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

How to opt in

SMS is strictly opt-in. We never enable it for you. To turn it on:

  • Create a free Find My Captain account and sign in.
  • Go to Account → Communications.
  • Add your mobile number and verify it with the one-time code we text you.
  • Check the box agreeing to receive SMS, then turn on SMS for the notification types you want.

At the point of opt-in we show this disclosure: “By verifying, you agree to receive SMS booking updates from Find My Captain. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. US and Canada numbers for now. See our Terms and Privacy policy.”

Sample message

“Find My Captain: Capt. Marisol Reyes confirmed a delivery aboard Blue Heron. https://www.findmy-captain.com/my-bookings/…”

Message frequency

Frequency varies — messages are sent in response to events like a booking update, so there is no fixed schedule.

Rates

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

Opting out and help

Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts. Reply HELP for help. You can also remove your number or turn off SMS at any time in your Communications settings.

Privacy

No mobile information or SMS opt-in data is shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Your number is shared only with the messaging provider that delivers the texts you requested. See our privacy policy for full details, and our terms & conditions for the rules of use.
